Does your pencil say Tyconderoga, Louis Malle?
First story we come across in this volume is MORE typhoons hitting Japan. Poor guys, do they EVER get a break? They've been reduced to calling them by number now, as we see footage from Typhoon 9 and 10.
More storm carnage as a Hurricane hits Louisiana. Nice shots of it hitting the coast.
After that, Britain is rebuilding the Mayflower for a voyage across the atlantic for the new year. Nice shots of the christening.
A troop of parachuting army medics are shown next trying to aim for a small spot of land in a forest. Some make it, and some just hang.. lol
Coverage of Polish men on trial are shown, focusing on their faces the narrator tells us that these are not the faces of communist sympathisers! Oh, ok.
Saint Innocent is beatified by Pope Pius! Yay!
Military vehicles are again profiled, a great looking tank and again, a submersive vehicle that can travel underwater (which was in another news footage film, though I forget which). Again, I'll stress, WHY would they need something like this? Are they driving to Korea?
Fort Ticonderoga is profiled next. Once again, I really don't like these 'Historical' reenactments, as I like seeing footage of happening events. So this was a time waster.
We see footage of mountain climbers. Nothing major to report.
Immediately after that is great footage of aerial trams going up up up the alps. Nice scenery, and nice tram footage.
An "Exclusive" to News Magazine shows us the first dive to the Andrea Dora which had just sunk. A professional diver goes down with a film director who has directed films about diving by the name of... Louis Malle! Yes THAT Louis Malle! So the diver and "The Director of The Silent Kingdom" go down and start exploring, but the diver's suit fills up with water, so they need to go up, but slowly, so not to cause serious illness. They finally do come up, but the diver winds up with a ruptured eardrum.. Ouch!
